We Came Together With The Students of Istanbul Commerce University
Guest Speaker Kenan Tekin, General Manager of Tekiş Lastik, at the Online Seminar on Recruitment Processes and Career Management in the Manufacturing Sector, Organized by Istanbul Commerce University Career Center (KAMER)
At the program moderated by Career Center Director Uğur Kaya, Tekin shared various insights, ranging from Tekiş Lastik’s success story and Industry 4.0 to career advice for students.
Tekin stated, “We started production 25 years ago in a 60 m² area under very limited conditions, catering to a small customer base. Today, we are manufacturing in a 3,000 m² area, exporting 60% of our production to 35 countries. As a company, we produce hundreds of products, including flat elastic, baby elastic, cords, tapes, elastic belts, glitter elastic, laces, bias tape, shoe laces, striped elastic, satin ribbons, woven elastic, tight woven elastic, double shuttle garment elastic, fixed tight woven elastic, fixed corrugated elastic, hose hanger patterns, honeycomb patterned elastic, ladder patterned elastic, side patterned elastic (double-sided), glitter tight woven elastic, glitter garment elastic, glitter colored elastic, tutu elastic, jacquard elastic, soft glitter elastic, ruffled woven elastic, sewing thread elastic, special mus elastic, glitter tight woven lace elastic, anima patterned elastic, shirred woven elastic, Texmal hard hose patterned elastic, special ladder patterned hanger elastic, corrugated tight woven elastic, and pant suspenders.”

Giving advice to students, Tekin said, “There are always risks and problems in professional life. My advice to students who are just beginning their career journey is: Every problem you encounter means learning new things. Therefore, do not hesitate to take risks and tackle problems head-on in life.”
