Human beings started to use machines in production tools with the first industrial revolution. This revolution affected the way of doing business, , efficiency, workflows, job descriptions, subordinate-superior relations and accelerated industrialization.

With the second industrial revolution, production lines were formed, which paved the way for mass production and produced more in less time and, in parallel, cheaper .

With the third industrial revolution, computer technologies started to be used in the industry thus, the of the industry began. And the fourth industrial revolution, beyond all other revolutions, has affected almost all areas of the business, from production in industry to finance, human resources, management and marketing. This is a significant transformation, including other revolutions. Although digital machines were used in production tools in this , there was a change beyond.

There are machines exchanging data among themselves and making their own decisions.

With this rapid technological advancement, we will see much more human-free dark factories in our lives on a global scale approximately in 10-15 years. These changes and transformations will lead to the emergence of some professions based on muscle and will also contribute to the emergence of new occupations based on knowledge.

When it is looked at in the context of Turkey within the scope of digital transformation, Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD), Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MUSIAD), Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), as well as some software companies carry out studies. The public also gives incentives for digitalization from time to time, especially through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB). Despite all of this, we can say that we are at the beginning of the digitalization process as a country.

As , we continue our work with stable and confident steps in the context of digital transformation. In the first stage of these steps, we established Tekiş Academy and started training to increase personnel awareness. To clarify our roadmap, with the contributions of ISO, Ministry of Industry, European Commission and European Enterprise Network, we prepared the digital transformation roadmap of our company. We established the digital transformation team that we’re holding meetings periodically and getting information about the studies. Also, we have established digitalization procedures. We started to use the Sentez ERP software system to digitalise production, workflows and customer relations. We switched to the shelf system in the warehouse. We began to use hand terminals to control the products produced. We have established our own data center. We have digitized our marketing. We signed cooperation protocols with the technology offices of universities. We contributed to the preparation of a master’s thesis on digital transformation in our company under the leadership of and Prof. Dr Murat

As Tekiş Elastic, our medium and long-term goals are to create a digitalized ecosystem managed entirely through data, including our relationships in supply chains, and to create a digital culture regarding personnel.
